U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Santiago Creek Project
The Santiago Creek project was authorized as a component of the Santa Ana River Mainstem Project in 1986. The project includes proposed improvements designed to enhance flood protection and erosion control along Santiago Creek in Santa Ana between the Interstate 5 Freeway and the confluence with the Santa Ana River, and upstream at the Santiago Recharge Basins near Villa Park. A Draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment and Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (SEA/IS/MND) was prepared for the project in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the public review of the Draft SEA/IS/MND was completed on November 30, 2023.
